Prof. Tim Flannery shares very personal insights in his Keynote address at the recent ACEL conference “Passion and Purpose. Setting the Learning Agenda”, (1-3 October, 2014, Melbourne). He shares his incredible educational experience outside of the traditional classroom and in an around the reaches of Port Philip Bay in Victoria. Prof. Flannery forever wished that one of his teachers had asked him to bring in one of his favourite fossils that he had gathered along the shores of the bay. He is forever thankful to the museums and curators who instilled in him a great love of science. “Exploring in time was incredibly exciting”.
